I began skating in 1984 after a fortunate article on skateboarding appeared in BMX Plus magazine. It was not long after this that skating became my life. After moving to Vancouver in 1988 I started skating at the Richmond Skate Ranch owned by Kevin Harris. After spending most of my days and nights at the park I was asked in 1989 to work at the park and within 6 months was managing and running the park. After a few years of being a sponsored amateur for various companies and running the park it came time to see the sad closure of what is known as one of the most influential parks in history. After spending a year working outside the skateboard industry the time finally came to re-enter it when Kevin Harris asked me to come on board with his skateboard distribution company Ultimate Skateboard Distributors (3 largest in the world). after a few years of warehouse work I began my climb and currently hold the position of general manager. Along with the huge responsibility of my position at Ultimate, I still find time to skate with my friends and have recently taken up motorcross racing as a newfound passion. I began my judging career at the first Slam City Jam where I also designed the street course and built the vert ramp. I was soon asked by Don and Danielle Bostick to come aboard as a full time World Cup Judge. Since that time I have judged almost every pro skateboard contest held in North America under the sanctioning of World Cup Skateboarding. Some of these contests include various ESPN x-trials, ESPN B3’s, ESPN X-Games 97 & 99, NBC Gravity Games 99, Hardrock finals 97 along with every Slam City Jam to date.

I am currently entering my 5th year of judging and continue to look forward to meeting, hanging out with, and supporting the giant family that is the skateboard industry. After 15 years of involvement in the skateboard industry I still wake up every morning knowing I do not work a job but live a lifestyle that I love and would never trade.
