Mike Sinclair

I found Mike Sinclair on the side of the road, in the rain, in Arizona, way back in 1990. This was back in the day of the NSA, National Amateur Championships. Nobody knew who Mike was, but I had noticed his skating. His sponsor was the defunct Motobilt Truck Company, after convincing him they were out of business, we began a long friendship and he skated for Thunder Trucks and Spitfire Wheels. Mike has that natural style that makes him look like he has tons of confidence. Well, if he does it has now been ten years since we first met and he hasn't ever mentioned it.

Mike is now 27 years old, he turned pro in 1997 and celebrated by blowing out his anterior cruciate ligament, not only once but, twice. After recovering, he began skating again as a councilor at Woodward Skate Camp in 1999. Needless to say Mike loves skateboarding, and when he is not riding he loves to watch people ride. Mike has been into skating for a very long time and still has photos and a membership card to the infamous Pipeline Skateboard Park, in Upland, CA. Mike still resides in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina where he has been the mainstay of the local skate scene since he was the only member.

Mike garnered his first pro judging experiences at SPOT and now has been a judge at all of the majors stateside, including Slam City Jam. Now that Mike has recovered fully from his injuries and has the new Utopia park in Raleigh to practice at, he is anxious to subject himself to some World Cup Scrutineering. With his second place best trick at Surf Expo and a solid top 10 finish at the Utopia Pro Bash, he is off to a solid start. Mike would like to thank his Grandmother, Parents, Greg Carroll at VENTURE Trucks, Rob Dotson at DUFFS Shoes, and The Endless Grind Skateshop in Raleigh.
