New for 2000

In order to open more doors to skaters from Europe and South America, the WCS World Rankings will be run in the following manner:

North America

North America will have a total of 11 Points Events, a skater’s best 5 Results will determine the WCS North American Points Champion(skater can be from anywhere in the world).

1.) SPOT, Tampa, FL
2.) ESPN B3, Lake Havasu, AZ
3.) ESPN B3, Louisville, KY
4.) Slam City Jam VII (1st Vans Triple Crown)
Vancouver, BC, Canada
5.) ESPN X Trials St. Petersburg, FL
6.) Vans Triple Crown, Cleveland, OH
7.) ESPN X Trials Nashville, TN
8.) NBC Gravity Games, Providence RI
9.) X Games, San Francisco, CA
10.) Vans Triple Crown Finals, Oceanside, CA
11.) Adventures in Plywood Paradise 4, Ventura, CA.

Europe

Europe will have a total of 4 points events, a skater’s best 3 Results will determine the WCS European Points Champion.(skater can be from anywhere in the world)

1.) Alp Challenge, Innsbruck, Austria
2.) Mystic World Cup, Prague, Czech Republic
3.) Grand Prix, Lausanne, Switzerland
4.) Globe Shoes World Cup, Dortmund, Germany

South America

South America will have one points event. The results from the Sao Paulo, Brazil, South American Championships plus the rider’s 3 best results from other WCS Points Events will determine the WCS South American Points Champion.(skater must be a citizen of a South American Country).

World Ranking

WCS World Rankings will include a skater’s best 4 results at North American WCS Points Events plus his best 2 Results from the combined WCS Points Events in Europe and South America. A total of 6 competitions will count. Final Points Results will be posted by November 17, 2000 at the WCS Web Site, www.wcsk8.com. 2000 #1 ranked skaters for street and vert for North America, Europe, South America and the World , as well as the overall champion(competiting in Vert & Street) will be awarded at the ‘2001 Trans World Skateboarding Awards.

Women

Women WCS World Rankings: women that compete in WCS Sanctioned events will be included. A skater’s three best Results will determine the WCS Women’s World Points Champion.(Street only, skater can be from anywhere in the world.)

1.) Slam City Jam VII (1st Vans Triple Crown)
2.) Vans Triple Crown, Cleveland, OH
3) Beach Bash, Hermosa Beach, CA
4.) Vans Triple Crown Finals, Oceanside, CA.
5.) South American Championships, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
