WCS INVITATIONAL SYSTEM FOR
VANS TRIPLE CROWN OF SKATEBOARDING FINALS
OCEANSIDE, CA – OCT. 6 – 8, 2000

Featuring 3 events, the Vans Triple Crown of skateboarding will maintain a points system for the three events. The points system is the same as used in the WCS Rankings system. The points will serve the following:

1. Total points from stop #1 and #2 will qualify the top 25 street skaters not already qualified to stop #3. (Top 10 skaters from stops #1 and #2 will automatically advance to stop #3. Top 5 skaters from VTC Finals ’99 not already invited will also participate.)
2. Total points from stops #1 and #2 will qualify the top 35 Vert skaters to stop #3.
3. The male skater with the highest points after stop #3 for Street will receive a bonus of $10,000.
4. The male skater with the highest points after stop #3 for Vert will receive a bonus of $10,000.
5. The male skater with the highest points total Street or Vert will receive a Ford Ranger Truck.
6. Total points from stop #1 and #2 will qualify the top 20 women street skaters to stop #3.


STOP #1 – SLAM CITY JAM VII – NORTH AMERICAN
CHAMPIONSHIPS – VANCOUVER, CANADA – MAY 4 – 7, 2000

Streetstyle - Is an Open Pro event. On Friday, May 4, the qualifying round is open to the first 100 skaters that are not ranked in the top 40 of the WCS 1999 Street Rankings. The top 38 skaters from qualifying will advance to the Semi-Finals, where they will skate with the top 40 skaters from WCS 1999 Street Rankings as well as the 1st and 2nd place skaters from the SPOT competition 2000, if they are not already qualified.

Vert – Is an open Pro event. The top 10 skaters from the WCS 1999 Vert Rankings are prequalified to the Semi-Finals. The 1st place skater from SPOT is prequalified, if he is not already.
The top 10 (male and female) skaters from Street and the top 10 skaters from Vert will automatically qualify to compete at the Vans Triple Crown on Skateboarding Finals in Oceanside, CA – Oct. 6 – 8, 2000.


STOP #2 – THE MOUNTAIN DEW U.S. PRO – CLEVELAND, OHIO – JUNE 2 – 4, 2000

Streetstyle - Is an Open Pro event. Open to the first 60 entries on a first come first serve basis.

Vert – Is an open Pro event. Open to the first 40 entries on a first come first serve basis.

The top 10 skaters from Street and top 10 skaters from Vert, not already invited will qualify to compete at the Vans Triple Crown of Skateboarding Finals in Oceanside, CA – Oct. 6 – 8, 2000.


STOP #3 – VANS/PLAYSTATION WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, VANS TRIPLE CROWN OF SKATEBOARDING FINALS – OCEANSIDE, CA – OCTOBER 6 – 8, 2000

Streetstyle – Invitational – The top 10 skaters from Stop #1, Slam City Jam VII, the top 10 skaters from Stop #2, the Mt. Dew U.S. Pro, plus the top 25 skaters from the VTC Rankings not already invited, plus the top 5 skaters from the Vans Triple Crown Finals ’99 not already invited. For a total of 50 skaters.

Women – Invitational - The top 20 VTC Ranking Women Street skaters.

Vert – Invitational – The top 35 skaters from the VTC Rankings.
