Here is my dad and I's review of the Sunday VERT showdown.

Well we rolled up to Edison Field about 10:00am and the parking lot was chuck full of cars. Admission was free for this event. We had walked throught the venue and there were booths that featured great sponsors of the the Anahiem B3 and the X-Games like 1-800-COLLECT, PacSun, Circut City, Snapple, and Casrtol GTX.

My dad and I went to take in a good spot to watch 33 of the best pro vert riders in the world tear this ramp up. The ramp was built and designed by Tim Paine and his company. They are regarded as the best ramp builders in the business. This ramp had and unique feature that they called "The Speed Bump" in the middle at the top of the ramp that Rune Glifberg had no problem doing a 50-50 across.

We squeezed our way to the rail where we could feel the air coming off the skaters as they went by. The warm up sessions was awesome, I even had to ask my dad if the competion started yet because the guys were going off. In between runs the guys would come over to the rail and throw goodies at us. Some of the guys even mingled around with all the kids in the crowd, that is what makes these guys heros.

Then the time arrived for field of 33 to get down to the business at hand. The comp started and what I saw was the most insane air that I had not seen live before. All the guys proved why they are the best in the world. I have to say that Lincoln Ueda was getting so much air, the kind that I have only seen in an old school video of Christian Hosoi. The skater of the day was Rune Glifberg. He worked every part and angle of the ramp. There just was no trick he could not hit on this ramp. I just stood there at the rail with my mouth open, there was no trick photography here, I was seeing this with my own eyes. All the guys that competed put on a great show and my dad said afterwards that he would have paid to see the show that he saw. After the comp we got back in our truck and went to go get a burrito. We spent the rest of the afternoon talking about the good time we had at the B3.

I hope that this article that my dad and I wrote will be ok for your website. My dad did most of the typing as we relived the event over. My dad used to do public relations for Indy car racing so he is used to writing stuff down. You guys put on a great show we hope we can go to another one soon.

Bye for now,
