STREET open to the first 80 pro skaters. The top 10 from WCS North American Rankings and top 5 from World Rankings will be pre-qualified into the Semi-Finals. Rankings as they appear on the WCS web-site on August 23 will be used to determine the pre-qualified skaters. Rodil Junior, WCS #1 ranked skater for 2002 is automatically advanced to the finals along with last years Champion, Dayne Brummet.
North American Ranked top 10: Ryan Sheckler (1), Carlos de Andrade (2), Chad Bartie (3), Daniel Vieira (4), Rick McCrank (5), Austen Seaholm (6), Nilton Neves (7), Chris Haslem (8), Kyle Berard (10) and Chris Senn (11).
World Ranked top 5: Colt Cannon (9), Henrique Candido Vitoria (11), Wolnei dos Santos (12), Rodney Jones (14) and Fabrizo Santos (15).
VERT - local heroes and international pros will battle on one of Canada's biggest vert ramps for a chance to advance to the finals against Pierre Luc, last years Champion.
BEST TRICK a no structured judging format equals a ballistic session where skaters will pull out all their sickest tricks.
WOMEN - some of the worlds best pro female skaters will be ripping it up in the street competition.
Formats:
STREET:
QUALIFYING ROUND: 80 skaters, 4 heats of 20, 2 - 50 second runs, best run, top 30 skaters advance to the Semi-Finals to meet the pre-qualified 15 skaters.
SEMI-FINALS: 45 skaters, 3 heats of 15, 2 60 second runs, best run, top 13 skaters advance to the Finals.
FINALS: 15 skaters, 1 heat, 2 60 second runs, best run, pay the top 15 skaters.
VERT:
QUALIFYING ROUND: 20 skaters, 2 heats of 10, 3 45 second runs, best run, top 11 advance to the Finals to meet last years Champion, Pierre Luc.
FINALS: 12 skaters, 1 heat, 4 45 second runs, best 2 runs count, pay top 12 skaters.
WOMENS STREET:
Competition: 20 25 skaters, 2 heats of 10, 2 60 second runs, best run, top 5 come back for a 2 run Final. Pay top 5.
VERT BEST TRICK: 30 minute jam, pay top 3
STREET BEST TRICK: pick 2 areas of the street course, Dave Duncan, the announcer will give out $800 at each area/obstacle. He will decide on value of each trick preformed and award the skater cash on the spot. Once $800 has been given out, we will proceed to the next area/obstacle of the course.
