Ladies Park Results

This year was the first time the girls got to show their stuff at the X-Games. Only eight girls were in the park event and they all were great to watch. The course is the same course that the guys will be competing on this Sunday. The course is really small and does not have much flat between the obstacles. Once someone bailed it ruined their flow since they have to climb up a ramp to start over. A few girls that did not make the top three were Elissa Steamer, Jessie Van Roechoudt and Jamie Reyes. Jessie Van Roechoudt seemed to be having trouble trying to noseslide the small ledge. Elissa seemed to be having trouble riding out of everything, she would nail her tricks but then loop out when trying to ride away. I think the heat may of been a big problem for the ladies today. Third place went to Amy Caron who has the best style out of the ladies and skated everything on the course. At times Amy looked a bit lost on the course but she did throw in some good kickflips and a super smooth big spin over the hip. Second place went to Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins who skated really fast and board slid her way in to the silver spot. First place went to Vanessa Torres who really stood out from most of the other girls. Vanessa back lipped the rail, 50-50 the Hubba ledge and pulled a backside disaster in the bowl corner. Vanessa is no stranger to the first place spot and it was no suprise that she was awarded the first ever gold medal in girls park.
