Argentina's Milton Martinez and Brazil's Leticia Bufoni take double wins at the Inferno WCS in Rome!

Congrats to Milton Martinez and Leticia Bufoni for taking the double wins in Street and Bowl! Milton and Leticia were both on fire all weekend at the Inferno! P1030612

‘Welcome to the Inferno’ were the words on the red VIP wristbands that were given to the skaters and guests, and was also the theme for this years annual WCS comp at the SPOT skatepark in the beautiful and bustling beach town of Ostia, Italy located just outside of the historical city of Rome. The temperatures were blazing all weekend and so was the skating! We hung out in the shade as much as possible in the days and held the events in the evenings as the warm summer air cooled off just enough. The 4 day weekend kicked off on Thursday with Quiksilvers presentation of Tony Hawk and friends European summer tour where the local crowd went nuts for Tony, Sandro, Neal Hendrix, Kevin Staab, Jessse Fritch and the Birdhouse team. Lots of kids got the free pass for the meet and greet for photos and autographs with the guys. Later, under the night lights the Vertical vert ramp was set ablaze with a bonfire of high flying 540s, fliptricks a 720 and some doubles and triples combos. The crowd cheered louder with every run, while the free drinks were flowing in the VIP zone. Everyone who attended knew that they were witnessing one of the most historical moments in Italian Skate history! The celebrations continued throughout the night. On Friday afternoon the Birdhouse team put on an amazing show on the street course despite the scorching afternoon heat. Thanks to everyone who was involved with the Hawk and Birdhouse shows!
Friday we had the WCS vert qualifier and everybody ripped hard, but it was Sandro Dias who would blast his way to the #1 spot with huge 540 combos, including a super high, long travelling alley-oop 5, also high flip tricks and even a Gnar jar! The bowl qualifier later that night was also super fun to watch! After the criss crossing craziness of the Prague bowl jams we decided to cut these jams down to 4 man heats, and even then, there was non stop excitement as everyone was barging hard and pushing there limits. Congratulatuions to Milton Martinez came who out on top. His stylee high speed and long frontside nosegrinds and nollie big spins in the big bowl were just a few of the tricks that helped him secure the #1 qualifying spot.

UK ripper Chris Oliver wins at NASS '10

Congrats to UK ripper Chris Oliver for edging out Ross McGouran and Rodil Jr. at the NASS WCS event in Shepton IR3S4615 Mallet. Brazilian Martin Andre won the Goliah Gap beating Jussi Korhonen and Trevor Johnson.

It felt great to bring the WCS summer tour back to Jolly old England. As we arrived in Bristol we were greeted by friendly and happy people. The drive into the English countryside was very green and an beautiful site to see. After driving through a town called Canards Grave we arrived safely at the Relentless Nass Sports and Music festival we saw thousands of people with weekend camping and praty gear ready to cut loose. The site was filled with lots of crazy booths, stages and a ‘Goliath’ mini mega ramp. I immediately knew this was going to be a classic weekend.
On Friday we held a UK qualifier for the locals on the indoor street course and took the top 3 skaters into the semis and the next 18 into Saturdays WCS qualifier. On Saturday we held the qualifier and took the top 20+ riders to meet up with the top 6 from the Prague event and the UK guys to make 30 skaters for Sundays Semis. We also had the Ladies event which was won by the 17 year old Brazilian phenom Leticia Bufoni. As the skaters partied into the night we helped ripper Chris Oliver celebrate his birthday. Most of the skaters were staying at the onsite campsites and just stumbled into their tents with a smile.
